Per the 2025 Wheaton Public Library Annual Report 410,261 people visited the library and checked out 1,099,164 books, audiobooks, movies, and more. There has been an increase in adults gathering in the library to play games, knit, or socialize, which helps to reduce loneliness and isolation (see below). The Teenspace buzzes with collaboration and DIY crafts, and the Youth Services area (see below) serves as a safe, fun space for families to learn and grow. The popular "Spotlight" browsing area allows patrons to quickly grab newer or trending materials or to discover hidden gems. The newly renovated West Plaza features new outdoor furniture and shade structure. The Tech Center and Teenspace areas feature new furniture and equipment (see below). The Library of Things collection allows patrons to check out tools, tech items, and other products.
The Youth Services Department is a space for families to explore, learn, and discover together. In 2025, the library hosted 659 programs for youth with 38,480 attending these programs. Popular programs include Noon Year’s Eve Party, Toy Swap, and Jim Gill Concert.
The vibrant Teenspace is a hub of activity and connection for our community’s teens. In 2025, the library hosted 306 programs for teens with 6,407 attending these events. Popular programs include the Murder Mystery Escape Room, Hunger Games Escape Room, and Halloween Haunted Activity House.
Adult Services: From concerts on the West Plaza to live painting demonstrations, the library's adult programming lineup was full of events that connected patrons with new experiences. In 2025, the libry hosted 560 programs for adults with 18,075 attending these events.Popular programs included the concert with Kaleidoscope Eyes, Retro Food Fads lecture, and Vatican Splendors lecture.
