Today, our guest speakers were Loraine Nemo and Dick Reiderer from Feed My Starving Children (FMSC).
Our Club members will return to the FMSC Aurora location on May 13 as volunteers to hand-pack rice, soy, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals into bags which are then sealed, boxed, placed on pallets and shipped to FMSC partners working hard to reach the neediest children around the world. 
The Need: Every year, millions of children die from preventable causes such as pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria and undernutrition. Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children under 5 years old. From this data, FSMC estimates at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition.
FSMC Mission: Established in 1987, the FMSC mission is: "As a Christian nonprofit organization, Feed My Starving Children is called to feed God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. You will hear us say this again and again: “We want to reach everyone, until ALL are fed.” We truly mean this. This means reaching the hard-to-reach people and places, the “least of these.” They will be found, and they will be fed. With God’s help we will work together with organizations and ministries across the globe to end hunger."
The Approach: The process is simple. Donations fund the meal ingredients. Volunteers hand-pack the meals. FMSC does not have its own staff distributing food around the world, and donates meals to an exceptional network of missions and humanitarian organizations worldwide: Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, and the Americas (North - Central - South).
Financial Accountability: With more than 90% of total annual donations are spent directly on meal production, FSMC receives a 4 star rating from Charity Navigator.
