Today, our guest speaker was Community Engagement Officer Crystal Miroballi. 
The purpose of the department's community engagement programs is: 
  1.  Enhance and strengthen education and outreach initiatives with residents, schools, the Park District, and other city/county service providers, and civic organizations
  2.  Share resources between community organizations and the police departments
  3.  Positive interactions with children and young adults
  4.  Create and implement programs for community members to participate in 
Among the many community engagement programs are: Citizens Police Academy, Citizens Ride Along, National Night Out, Neighborhood Roll Call, Shop with a Cop, Stuff the Squad, Elementary/Middle School visits, and Police Department tours .
