Today, our guest speaker was Community Engagement Officer Crystal Miroballi.
The purpose of the department's community engagement programs is:
- Enhance and strengthen education and outreach initiatives with residents, schools, the Park District, and other city/county service providers, and civic organizations
- Share resources between community organizations and the police departments
- Positive interactions with children and young adults
- Create and implement programs for community members to participate in
Among the many community engagement programs are: Citizens Police Academy, Citizens Ride Along, National Night Out, Neighborhood Roll Call, Shop with a Cop, Stuff the Squad, Elementary/Middle School visits, and Police Department tours .
