7/20/22
Today, our club meeting was held at City Hall, and we met with Nicole Aranas, Chair of the Planning & Zoning Board
The Planning and Zoning Board reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council regarding zoning changes, variations, and subdivisions of land. The Planning and Zoning Board generally meets at 7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at City Hall. All meetings are open to residents.

Contrary to somewhat common belief, the Board does not make decisions regarding property use that complies with zoning.

There was much discussion with the attendees regarding the ongoing Roosevelt Road Corridor Study, the recently approved (by the City Council) redevelopment of the south of the RR tracks block bounded by Liberty Drive, Willow Avenue, Hales Street, and Wheaton Avenue), and the Wheaton Bowl property at the corner of Gary Avenue & Geneva Road to be developed as a gas station and car wash.
