Today, our guest speaker was Dr. Ron Severino, MD (Ronald G. Severino Jr, MD - Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group).
His topic was two-fold.
- First, the development of the polio vaccines, their effectiveness, and the current worldwide status of efforts to eradicate the disease, and
- Second, the development of the COVID-19 vaccines, their effectiveness, the impact of new Coronavirus variants, and the impact of low vaccination levels.
