Today, Club member Bob Rammer, Ph.D. stepped up as substitute guest speaker. Bob and his wife Olga are members of the St. Joseph Orthodox Christian Church (412 Crescent St., Wheaton - https://www.stjosephchurchwheaton.org/) and his topic was the history, core beliefs, and organization of the Orhodox Church.

Distinct from both the Protestant churches and the Roman Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church (aka Eastern Orthodox Church or Creek Orthodox Church) is the third largest religious community in the world after Catholics and Sunni Muslims. The Orthodox Church operates self govering, independent churches, each governed by its bishops. The church has no central doctrinal or governmental authority analogous to the pope of the Roman Catholic Church.
