Today, our guest speaker was Mike Dzugan - Wheaton City Manager. Mike is retiring effective July 27, 2026 after 35 years working for the city (Mike became city manager in 2016 after having served as Wheaton's assistant city manager since 1991).
In his remarks, Mike stated that while certain occurrances and events stick in his mine such as dealing with the Covid pandemic and the development of the Hale Street Tents, it is the transformative impact of technology on on city government and the transparency of our city government operations that really stands out. Looking toward the future, he is concerned with an increasing countrywide distrust of representative government and the pending impact Artificial Intelligence.
