Today, our guest speaker was Michelle Ptack with the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana.
Since the founding of the Girl Scout Movement more than a century ago, it has grown to include nearly 2 million girl members and more than 50 million Girl Scout alums. It provides a path to discovering confidence, building real-world skills, and creating friendships.

Every Girl Scout has their own curiosity, dreams, and talents—so when they come together to decide which of the thousands of Girl Scout activities to try, the sky’s the limit. From kindergarten to high school, Girl Scouts offers a wide range of activities with local clubs ("Troops") offering activities for each school grade level: K-1 (Daisies), 2-3 (Brownies), 4-5 (Juniors), 6-8 (Cadettes), 9-10 (Seniors), 11-12 (Ambassadors).
