Diveheart is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing adaptive scuba diving programs for children, adults, and veterans with disabilities. Since 2001, our programs have offered both physical and psychological therapeutic benefits, helping participants discover new possibilities.
The weightless, forgiving environment of the water creates a gravity-free space where participants can move freely and experience a sense of equality and empowerment.
Diveheart seeks to help its participants “Imagine the Possibilities” in their lives. Diveheart works with individuals who have a variety of disabilities including:
- physical & developmental disabilities
- vision & hearing impairments
- Amputations
- traumatic brain injuries
- Spinal Cord Injuries
- Paraplegia and Quadriplegia
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and more.
Diveheart has helped launch adaptive scuba programs all over North America and the carribbean to Malayasia, Australia, China, Austrailia, and the UK.
Deep Pool Project: Diveheart is creating a deep, warm-water therapy pool that will expand adaptive scuba and water therapy opportunities for people of all abilities. Located at the Diveheart Education & Research Facility in the Chicago suburbs, the pool will provide an inclusive, transformative space for individuals with physical and cognitive challenges.
