Today, it was our pleasure to have Dr. Ryan Caputo, COD President, as our guest speaker.
 
 
His presentation dealt with how the college fulfills it’s mission to be a center for excellence in teaching, learning, and cultural experiences by providing accessible, affordable, and comprehensive education.
 
Selected highlights:
  • The college serves residents in most of DuPage County and parts of Cook and Will counties. The college district includes 26 public high schools and 10 private high schools. More than 25 percent of all the district’s high school graduates attend COD during their college career.
  • Typical fall semester credit enrollment: 25,000 students. COD offers transfer degrees and career and technical education programs in a broad range of fields and disciplines. The College offers seven associate degrees, and 175 certificate programs for today's career and technical subject areas. Typical class size is 35 students. Courses are offered at more than 50 sites as well as online.
  • Affordability is a prime is a prime objective. Cost of attendance: COD ranks in the lower 25% of Illinois colleges. Financial assistance is available in the form of federal and state grants, loans, work study and scholarships
