Today, our guest speaker was Rob Wilkinson, CEO of our local YMCA.
His presentation detailed the now underway $12 million renovation project. The present building dates from the mid 1960's, and the project will provide significant upgrades and modifications in order to increase offerings, enhance member and participant experiences, and create an environment that is welcoming to all. Key elements include incorporating flexible and multipurpose spaces adaptable for multiple programs, group exercise, community meetings, etc. as well as improved ADA accessibility. Effectively, the renovation creates a new building at one third the cost of teardown and rebuild.
